Eligibility first
Consent records are your responsibility as the sender. Keep them queryable by number: if a recipient opts out or a consent source is questioned, you need an answer at hand, not a reconstruction project.
- Content is promotional — announcements, offers and marketing messages, not transactional notifications.
- Recipients are opted in — you send to people who have consented to receive promotional messages from you, and you can show how that consent was collected.
- DLT-approved promotional headers and templates — the campaign content and sender are registered and approved before the send.
Audience and packs
Import your consented audience into the dashboard. Clean it once before importing: deduplicate numbers, drop numbers that previously opted out, and check the format of every entry — a few malformed rows discovered after scheduling are a much bigger problem than the same rows caught at import.
Campaign sends draw on your SMS pack. Published packs carry no expiry — credits stay usable for as long as your account is active — and the pack table on the pricing section shows current published rates. The final terms applicable to your account are confirmed during signup.
Schedule and send from the dashboard
Campaign scheduling runs from the sms-ocean dashboard: choose the audience, the approved header and template, and the schedule. The admin portal's dashboard view shows your traffic overview and recent activity, so a scheduled campaign is visible alongside the rest of your account traffic.
For a first campaign, schedule a small initial send rather than your full list. Confirm from the reporting (next section) that everything you expected to happen happened — right header, right template, statuses returning — then schedule the full audience with confidence.
Ask for the volume and throughput check
This is the homepage's stated next step for campaign jobs, and it exists for a good reason: campaign size and timing determine the throughput your send needs. Ask for a volume and throughput check for your campaign size during signup or through support — it is a short conversation that prevents the most avoidable kind of campaign problem.
Sending internationally, or above the published pack sizes? The volume-quote contact path covers those cases too — you will get current rates and applicable conditions for your specific case rather than a guess.
After the send: read the reporting
Every message carries its own delivery status, which updates as carriers confirm delivery — that per-message reporting, including failure classification, is covered in Delivery reports and statuses. Read it after the initial send while the campaign is small: it is much cheaper to fix a template or audience issue on five hundred messages than on fifty thousand.
